Gettin mah DRAW on!!! Render Sketchbook Review

Here are a few sketches that I did last night in my new Render Marker Sketch book. This thing is amazing. It's the first ever sketchbook made specifically for marker work. This thing does NOT bleed through the paper and is incredible! I think that even with really heavy alcoholic base markers like Prismacolor, or Copic, you will do very well. I'm an avid Copic user and they held up pretty well. I did a few sketches in it so far and they are pretty cool.

What I like about the book too, is that the colors displayed when u draw are still really vibrant and nice looking. They don't blend into the page or dull at all. The book was only about $30 at my local art supply store, and I think it was well worth it. Any marker artists out there that do comics, grafitti artwork, or tattoo art, this is a sketchbook for you! Never have to worry about losing valuable sketching space in your books due to marker bleed! Out of 5, I give the Render Sketchbook a 5+!

Finishing up commissions... Part 1

So I have been taking the time to finish up some long overdue commissions that I have been busy working on. After this, I will be doing some new sales to help me get my new place hopefully within the next 6 months. All will be custom artwork and really fun. Hopefully a sort of a one of a kind type piece/product.

So far though, I have 2 pieces left to go for one client. Two original character pieces of Star Wars characters for another, and two original pieces for another client. All together I need to finish a total of 6 more commission pieces. I undercharged a lot for these in the hopes to get a lot of business, but ended up using a lot of it for shipping. Took a HUGE loss on these. Gonna fix that next time I take commissions!

Black Canary and Black Cat

Here are some new drawings that I did to put up on eBay really soon for auction on my personal site for selling my original artwork pieces. These will be on sale soon. They are 11 x 17 pinups of both Black Canary from DC Comics, and Black Cat from Marvel Comics. Sexy aren't they!?

New eBay artwork & Commission art!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I put up some new artwork on eBay after a few weeks of catching up on commission work that I needed to get done, and after getting done with some pages in my new comic. I have the Wonder Woman piece up as well as Selene from Underworld. These are pictured below. These drawings are going to further help me get the Seven off the ground, and get it done! When I start the crowdfunding campaign for the book, I really want to have most of the costs taken care of, like a colorist most importantly for this book. Dick Tracy

This is the latest Dick Tracy piece that I just finished up tonight. I always have tons of fun when drawing Dick Tracy. I wonder what it would be like to do a comic of this guy? Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it. I put it up on my fineart portfolio site called Prokofolio.com. I did it with Copics, and Prismacolor markers and inks. It measures 11 x 17 and done on Canson Comic Art Board. It's up for sale on the site now for $150! So email me if you can't remember the site so that you can purchase it! Sexy Rogue (requested by the wife!)

My wife had been asking me to draw Rogue for a while. I gotta be honest, I had been ignoring it because I didn't want to draw another static pose. She finally asked me again, and described the request, and this is what came of it. Yes... my mouth dropped open. I showed it to her and she loved it. She said..."That's gonna sell for a lot on eBay!" We shall see. If I don't get bids, or offers on it, it will be thrown up next week on eBay! E-mail me if you are interested with your offers.

Supergirl Rebooted

So here is a new Supergirl in the new costume redesigned by DC for the reboot campaign. I have to admit that I kind of like the new suit. But that's just me. The piece is 9 x 12 bristol and done with my usual traditional materials. I have been studying various marker techniques to add to my design arsenal and learn something new. This seems to be doing well so far.

This piece is up on eBay right now for a low price, and is only up on the weekend with a low starting bid. So if you can, please bid and get your hands on this now. Either way, let me know what you think of it will you? I would appreciate it!

Finished Commissions

Trinity United Progression

These are the progression pieces of my new 11 x 17 piece of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Hope you guys enjoy it! This piece is available for sale for $85 if you are interested at all. This was extremely fun to do. Hope you enjoy seeing the progression.

This is a new commission for someone who one a kiriban contest on my DA site. This is his original character Firefly. Pretty fun to do, and I did it in about 15-20 minutes.

She-Hulk Marker Sketch

Here is another one of my test runs in this style of drawing. Marker bust drawings are fun to do for sure. I am hoping that I can do these during the convention in San Francisco at the WonderCon. That is the plan anyway. I figure if I can do these bust sketches with full renderings, I could do them for $20 each. What do you think? Would you pay that much for a sketch like this? I would, but that's just me. Right now this sketch is on eBay...

You all know the situation. I have just begun taking some special commissions for the mission and quest to get to WonderCon 2011! I need money for the table, supplies, products, food and lodging. I assume that all of this all together will cost around $500-$600. If there is a cheaper way to do this, then please I ask you to let me know. Right now though I am asking you for your help.

The more info you put in the form below, the better the sketch will come out (that does not mean the life story of the character but reference links, etc) Once I accept and payment is received, I will send to you an approximate date for when the commission will be done, and when you should receive it in the mail.
