So another VLog this week! Below is the YouTube video of me talking about Patreon.com and my new page there. I have a lot of plans that I want to accomplish as an artist, and the only way I can make a living doing this thing that I love, is with your help. The minimum is $1 a month that you can donate to me monthly. I can continue to do this work, provide videos, and do giveaways as a thank you to all of you that support me in my new endeavor in life as a professional artist. Please take the time to check out the video below, and subscribe to my YouTube channel, as well as become a supporter on Patreon!

Inktober Events & Commissions!

So to celebrate Inktober, as well as keeping my inking skills on point, not only am I participating in Inktober this year, but I am taking simple $10 ink bust commissions! There is no limit as to how many you can order here, so go buck wild. Just be sure to give me time to complete them all! I want to always improve in my art skills, and have fun doing it and make some side cash. $10 is a good price because its not too expensive, and is in everyone's price range. There may be some new watchers and fans to my art, and so because of that, I will be posting something regularly online here daily when I can. I'm hoping eventually to get an assistant willing to help me post here online through all my social media, and online storefronts in the near future. One can dream, right!? Anyway, I hope you guys take advantage of this opportunity! Sketches are only $10 bucks. If you live in the US, shipping is free, but if you are overseas, shipping is $3.
The drawings will be done on either white, or toned tan cardstock paper, and I will attempt to post these drawings on my Instagram (@idwalkerart), here on DA, and on YouTube! So get a chance to purchase some cool artwork and maybe see your work online as well! Below are some samples of the work I created thus far! Be sure to follow me to see more!

Free Comic Book Day... DONE!

So yesterday was an incredible day in Santa Rosa at my local comic book shop Comics FTW. Its a store run by my good long time friend Kris B. I set up a table there with a couple of other amazing artists and we had an incredibly successful day.
Adding to it was the coolest cosplay of my good friend Julie Hartley who came as the stunning Poison Ivy. She really knocked it out of the park with that costume.
On top of that I met some really cool new friends and hung out with old ones as well. During my new career path I am making it a goal to get to know people and build connections and networking. The amazingly talented Jessica Lynn was one of these awesone new friends that I connected with and I can see her and I hooking up to do shows together in the future.
I personally had a successful day and made a good chunk of change, all of which will be going to my projects and to do other comic shows. So next on the list is the Santa Rosa Toy Con, which I will be returning from Monterey to attend as a guest artist. By then I will have a ton of new art and again looking to build more contacts.  So for now thats it. Until next time everyone!

Going back home & Starting from scratch

So things have happened in my life since i have picked up the pencil again. And with the major changes that have happened im going to take the opportunity to take my art career as a cartoon and comic illustrator and go full force.
First thing im gonna do is move back to my home in Monterey ca. Folks are letting me stay for a full 6 months rent free so this is the perfect time to gsther my thoughts leave all the old crap behind and reboot. Giving myself the real opportunity to do what i really want to do.
On top of that I have decided that i want to go back to school and pursue my education in the arts in illustration. Im thinkin Bachelors degree.
Im honing and improving my craft as an artist during this time as well so that i can prepare to enter the world as an artist that has something to show. And finally im going to be traveling by going to varioys comic conventions. This has been a huge dream of mine to be able to do this.
So with that being said, its time to ge movin!!!

Talk to u later

30 Sketches of April and other projects

So a new month is here and I am doing a couple of projects to keep myself occupied and something that will help me improve in my art. One of them is something called #30sketchesofApril. Everyday I'm going to be posting a daily sketch and sharing it across all my platforms online. I'm down for the challenge for sure and I'm looking forward to seeing what I can come up with. Below is the first lineart drawing of Princess Jasmine from Disneys Aladdin. You can follow me in this project on Instagram where I put up the majority of my work. Follow me there @idwalkerart.

Another project I'm doing is more for personal use and it's called The Pose Bible. Since I'm going to be doin a lot of art and commission work in the future I need a quick reference and something to build my visual library to draw anything I need to on the fly. So I'm creating a sketchbook full of various poses and things so I have the ultimate reference at my fingertips. So far I have over 100 poses done in two days. I think that's cool!

On Instagram I will be marketing myself and my artwork on a major scale as I am now taking major strides to make this a bit of a career for myself. So any support would be wonderful! If u like what I do let me know and don't hesitate to share with others. You can't buy? Then still support and tell others about me and see if they are interested. I want to inspire and be inspired by creating awesome and quality artwork for everyone!

See you next time!

Don't Call it a Comeback!

I actually HAVE been here for years. Just as of late, I have been re-inspired to pick up the pencil again. I'm going to try and post more often when I can. I don't have internet, so when I get it, I will post. Today, I went through a lot of my art stuff, and found a couple of blank sketch cards that I never got around to drawing on. And since I haven't drawn sketch cards in a while, I thought it would be fun to do some cute simple cards, and throw them up on my ETSY page, and see if I can sell them or something to make a lil extra cash on the side. So we will see how that goes. Below is a pic of the simple finished cards in all their glory.

So with that being said, if you like anything you see, stop by the ETSY store and pick it up!

Also, to let you all know, I am exclusively using Instagram as my main social media outlet for showcasing my art and such. So please, check out my Instagram that showcases my artwork, and follow me. If you really like my work, tell others as well! You can find me as @idwalkerart

I'll be right back...
